Some SK8 News for you all

WE ARE BACK! Some SK8 News for you all

Hi again, we have returned with a quick update on all things United SK8S, Summer news and what’s ahead. We do hope that everyone has been enjoying the summer sunshine so far and taking the chance to get the skates on and go outdoors!
Outdoor skating meet ups are still happening every Saturday morning in July at the Kelpies in Falkirk, 10am for a 10.30 start! Join us for a relaxed outdoor skate session, helping to improve your skate skills and get a great workout.

CONGRATULATIONS!

We would like to say the biggest well done to our Skaters from Lochgelly SK8ERCISE Class and our Edinburgh skaters who took part in a huge 26 mile SK8-ATHON around Falkirk Stadium and the Kelpies. Absolutely outstanding effort and achievement by all, overcoming personal obstacles, pushing their limits and supporting each other to achieve their own goals. Its what skating is about to us, uniting abilities and challenging ourselves. The challenge was in aid of Parkinson’s Disease, The Mistletoe Foundation, Upmo, and other chosen charities. Well done to all involved.

EDINBURGH ARTISTIC SK8 SCHOOL
AND
JUNIOR SK8 CLASSES LEADING INTO ROLLER DERBY

Artistic Classes (under 16) take place on Wednesday evenings 6-7.30pm at Leith Academy, Edinburgh. Our qualified Figure skating Coach Giada Canderle teaches skaters, balance and posture while moving on to learning unique and skilled turns and jumps. This eventually leads on to choreography sessions working on routines. If you have a child that’s interested then feel free to get in touch with us to book a space.

We are finalising plans to bring Junior SK8 classes leading into Junior Roller Derby to Edinburgh, its surrounds and Fife. This is a fast paced, dynamic and very unusual skate based sport that is growing fast with huge followings. Keep tuned for details!

PORTOBELLO BEACH BUSK Saturday 25-8-18 From noon

We thought that we had succeeded in challenging ourselves with unique locations, such as the Speigeltent in Dumfries and the Halloween Parade Roller Disco, outdoors in Greenock in October! – but – this may challenge those.
Hundred of musicians turn up to their chalk drawn circles on Portobello Promenade to do their thing entirely autonomously. We will be there with our own moves, on skates, with skates to use, and lots of music to skate to! Bands and Buskers still wanted ( let us know if its you!) to situate beside us and grace us with their talents. No generators, just Roller Skating!

SK8 WITH YOU ALL SOON!
